Box 1269 Bonners Ferry, ID 83805 Ph# (208) 267-3519 Fax (208) 267-2960 JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Aquaculture Facility EngineerCompensation: Salary $55,000; after 90 days, competitive benefits Hours: Full-time / Exempt Open Date: April 17, 2024 Closing Date: May 15, 2024 *Please include cover letter, resume, and three references with application JOB DESCRIPTION: The Aquaculture Facility Engineer is responsible for maintenance of a tribally owned fish hatchery operation. This position maintains the Fish & Wildlife Department office and general vehicle (trucks, boats, etc.) mechanical needs. The Engineer will work with hatchery managers and technical staff to ensure critical hatchery systems are maintained. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The ideal candidate will have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot a wide variety of systems including water pumps, filters, chillers, heat exchangers, boilers, UV units, electrical systems, and power generators; an understanding of computer applications for fish hatchery alarming and control systems monitoring with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks; ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams; comply with environmental regulations; prepare maintenance reports; provide budgeting information; good oral and written communication skills. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver’s license is required to operate Tribal vehicles; must be insurable by Kootenai Tribe of Idaho auto insurance policy; a High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) is required; work 40 hours per week (on-call weekends, nights, holidays as needed); this position requires ability to lift 50+ lbs. and routinely work in a cold, wet environment.
