ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT – POLSON, MT The Environmental Special Projects Coordinator position is a full-time, professional and technical position. Position is responsible for the implementation of the Division of Environmental Protection (DOEP) special projects as they become available. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Environmental Science, Biological Science, Biology or closely related field. Incumbent must have good leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with demonstrated abilities to work unsupervised in field situations. Must be able to travel to various trainings and workshops both within and outside the state of Montana. Applicant must be able to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills and have proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Knowledge of grant budgets, workplans and reports is essential. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. Also, must successfully complete an online defensive driving course upon hire and every three (3) years thereafter, and wear Tribal Government identification and safety apparel while conducting investigations and field activities. FAILURE TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS. All applicants are required to submit a Tribal Employment Application (Resumes may be submitted but may not replace or supplement the official Tribal Employment Application), copies of relevant transcripts and/or certificates, copy of valid driver’s license, proof of Enrollment from a Federally recognized Tribe if other than CSKT, and if claiming veteran’s preference, a copy of DD214 must be submitted. GRANT SPECIALIST CONTRACTS AND GRANTS The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field with special emphasis on contract management, budgeting or accounting OR equivalent experience in tribal organization with primary responsibility for tribal, federal and state contracting policies, procedures, and accounting or contract finance. Two (2) years of experience in contact administration and accounting. Experience with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes preferred Knowledge of researching, analyzing and interpreting Federal, State, and Tribal laws, regulations, and policies regarding grants. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of mediums to include both oral and written reports of very complex and detailed issues. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to interpret regulations and policies. Ability to coordinate a variety of administrative processes. Possess analytical ability. Salary range $25.74 to $33.43 per hour, plus benefits (Health Ins., Life Ins., Retirement, Long-term disability, and P.T.O.).
